kelly

Welcome spring quarter... What a way to start it with snow flurries today. Yuck! Hopefully this is the last time that happens. Anyways... I am taking a portraiture class this quarter which I am excited about. Our first assignment was to do a portrait of a classmate and I was lucky enough to get my shooting buddy from last quarter, Kelly! She's super cute and when I found out I had her I knew I had to do something with flowers because she makes me think of flowers =) I am having trouble picking which one to use for class, so let me know what you guys think. You would never know but when these were taken it was raining and probably 30 some degrees. She's such a trooper! She has such pretty blue eyes...

The cherry blossom trees are so cool! It's like a whole other world.

America's Next Top Model? Look Tyra, she found her light! haha

Check out that wind action!

san diego: sunset + torrey pines

I am finishing up my vacation blogging with some more pretty places. We got to watch the sunset at Pacific Beach after indulging in some super amazing lobster tacos at World Famous (Yea $1.50 night!) It's so crazy how the sky can look so different in a matter of minutes.

We spent our last day there hiking at Torrey Pines Reserve. It's super neat and if you go out on the furthest trail you get to go down to a black sand beach! It's just all so pretty. I wish we had places like this in Ohio!

san diego: point loma + la jolla

It's always neat to go to the Point Loma lighthouse because it gives a spectacular view of San Diego, and of course the lighthouse is pretty neat itself! Then we get to venture down to the Tidepools on the other side. It's all such beautiful scenery.

These cactus are so neat with their pretty colors!

We also went to La Jolla which is a very neat place too with pristine beaches and a cove filled with seals. It was pup season so there were lots of babys!

san diego: zoo

Unfortunately, I am back from sunny San Diego and stuck in cold rainy Ohio. Yuck! It was a great trip and we got to see some really beautiful things! I will slowly be putting up pictures that are favorites as I make me way through the hundreds that I took. Thought I would start off with the zoo. It was the best zoo that I have ever been to with beautiful landscaping and exhibits everywhere you looked. A must see!

Here are just some ones that I set up with Aaron and I and had my parents snap the shutter because I'm always behind the camera.

More to come...

mentos + finals

It is finally that time... finals week! Usually I dread this week but this quarter I am very lucky to have an easy finals week even though I have one at the last time possible on Friday, yuck! I am finally recovering after being sick with a horrible virus for the past week. I was lucky to not have a final until Wednesday so I got to go home and recover before taking my finals. Here is my final project for the still life class. It is for a two image set that works together. My grandma gave me the purple necklace and I have always thought it looked like Mentos and I happen to be a HUGE fan of Mentos. What better excuse to eat them? Thought I would play and make the necklace look like the candy and the candy look like the necklace. Fun!

This will be my last post for the next couple weeks because I'm going to California to visit my brother! Many pictures to be expected...

warning: may cause mouth watering

Okay, so I really wish you could smell this through the picture, if so, you would be drooling! My assignment this week was food or fashion and because I always choose the fashion route I decided to mix it up because I have never really shot food. It was fun! Mostly because I got to eat it after I shot it. =)
This is a really good dish my mom makes with seared scallops and mango salsa. Mmm..

2 weeks left of classes and then finals! and then.... CALIFORNIA!!!
