olivia

Meet Olivia. She is four years old, loves pink and princesses. But I think that's pretty obvious by looking at the pictures. =) She's so adorable and super fun to be around! Her parents let me steal her for the day and she was totally fine with that on the condition that she got ice cream! Not just any ice cream, but ice cream with a silly face and sprinkles, her favorite (mine too when I was her age but I struggled with the pronunciation and called them frinkles!)

She started making silly faces so of course I had to post those!

ashley + friends

Remember my cousin Ashley? Well she is almost done with high school and asked to go back to Cox and take some pictures with her friends. They were all so cute and coordinated =) Here are some of my favorites! Congrats girls! (Psst... Ashley's the one in yellow!)

vanessa

My cousin from Oklahoma came to visit! I haven't seen her in like two years so it was good to get to see her again. We went to our grandparents farm to do the pictures for her mom. She's cute. And she has some amazing blue eyes! I wish I got to see her more!!! I'll start it with a picture of Vanessa and I from 1991 helping grandpa pick strawberries. Haha, talk about a flashback!

We've seem to somehow have grown up...kinda =)

Her long time friend, Molly came with her. Molly is practically part of the family. =)

BFF's... hahaha They wanted to be goofy.

michael

My next assignment is purely technical. It is a formal business portrait. So here's my lovely model, Michael. It's sometimes nice to not have to be too creative for a shoot and just get the technicalities down.

raindrops

I have made it a goal that once summer starts to take a picture everyday. I'm trying to gear up for that by shooting odd ball stuff around me that I don't really notice. So today it has been pouring-sun-pouring-sun-pouring-I think you get the picture... When it rains the rain will sometimes hit my window and screen in my room so I played around with it and got some pretty strange shots. No, this is not a galaxy, it is raindrops on my window screen. Pretty neat thing you can do with a polarizing filter and a super small aperture and ultra fast shutter, right? These were taken in the afternoon, not night. Sometimes I feel like it takes a camera for us to notice the beauty around that we don't see with our naked eye.

jane

I have finally done it. I have finally used lights on location! For my next assignment we had to do a 3 image series with lights on location. I was really nervous about it but with help from assistant Aaron and model Jane, I think it went well. Jane is nature loving painter who wears ridiculous glasses sometimes. Haha, she's pretty much amazing. =) I have always wanted to try something with a painter. I wanted to give the illusion that she was painting on my lens. So after a failed attempt with saran wrap and 50mph winds, my car window worked like magic! I think it adds a neat effect.

And she made best friends with a catepillar... haha

legs, legs, legs

My next assignment for portraiture is to do a non facial portrait diptych. When I first heard this assignment I really wanted to do something abstract and bizarre. I think I achieved that pretty well. haha Here's legs of dancer, Erin.
