the great potato harvest

As I've said before, my parents are growing a garden along with the help of my grandpa and his farm. I have been waiting to dig the potatoes all summer and this past week it was finally time! I think because I have never grown potatoes before it was an extra special occasion, so of course I had to document the fun. We have gotten so many fresh fruits and vegetables from this garden with everything from corn, watermelon, swiss chard, lima beans, onions, and more! Both my family and my grandpa have enjoyed this garden so much this year and I'll get to keep enjoying it at school because we canned a lot of the extras. I think everyone should grow a garden. It's such a rewarding experience to see it grow from a tiny seed into some delicious produce. This is only less than half of the potatoes. There were SO many! And of course this was only a fraction of the tomatoes. Those things never stop growing! Then we got to watch the beautiful sunset on the drive home. I'm going to miss all of this when I head back to school in a week...
